Interesting Skin Care Myths

Truth or Myth? I need to drink at least eight glasses of water a day for my skin.
MYTH: You need 91 ounces of fluids a day which you can get from the food and beverages you consume. The outside humidity determines how dry you are, not how much water you drink.

Truth or Myth? Doing facial exercises will gift my skin a lift.
MYTH: The more you make facial movements, the deeper your lines become. You have muscles in your face (forty-four). These muscles are attached to your skin. So any kind of movment exercises these muscles and adds to your wrinkles.

Truth or Myth? I wear sunscreen when I go outside so my skin is protected from the sun.
This one is a bit tricky so listen carefully. NOT ALL SUNSCREENS ARE CREATED EQUALLY!!!! You need a sunscreen that protects against UVA/UVB both. So start reading labels. Here is a little trick to remember the difference between UVA and UVB. Think of UVA (A for AGE). Having UVA protection keeps our skin from AGING. Think of UVB (B for BURN). Having UVB protection means keeping our skin from burning. If you are driving in your car and the sun is beating down on you on the drivers side for example, you are going to get those UVA rays coming at you and THEY ARE SLOWLY AGING YOUR SKIN IF UNPROTECTED.
